WfX Day 1

I spent the day in Uptown Charlotte at the Convention Center at the WfX conference.  First, let me say that I’ve lived in Charlotte for almost five years and this is the first time I’ve been to the Convention Center.  I had no idea that we had such a nice facility here.  This is my first WfX conference and many thanks go to Anthony Coppedge for the opportunity to attend.  Anthony was giving away a comp ticket on Twitter and chose me.  Thanks, Anthony!

This is going to make me sound like a big baby, but oh well…  I don’t like to drive after living in LA for three years.  I was not thrilled about the idea of driving 45 minutes to an hour in traffic each way plus finding and paying for a parking place Uptown.  I’ve never ridden the train and thought that this was the perfect opportunity.  So, after I learned that the poor elementary kids in my neighborhood get on the bus at 6:15 a.m., I drove to Pineville to catch the train to the Convention Center.  It was surprisingly easy and I loved it.  I’m glad that I don’t have to make that commute every day, but if I did, I’d definitely take the train frequently.

The Convention Center has a great sitting area with tables and chairs.  Perfect space for eating lunch and getting some work done.  Kudos and many thanks for WfX for providing free and reliable wireless!  I attended several sessions and the first keynote today.  I’ll post about those individually.
