Jesus Rules!
We started a new series titled “Only God” this weekend that is a walk through the book of Hebrews. Here are a few of the things that jumped out at me in Rob’s sermon “Jesus Rules!”
- Hebrew was written to Jewish Christians around Rome.
- Author unknown; possibly Paul.
- Themes: Don’t stop here; Move on; Keep growing; Stop acting like babies.
- The people were struggling with how much of the law and Old Testament that they needed to keep. They wanted the security of their man-made systems and couldn’t quite understand that they didn’t need these traditions.
- Evaluate your traditions: Are the relevant? Do they bring you closer to God?
- Hebrews 1:1-2 – God is no silent and withdrawn; He speaks! He speaks in ways to reach every person.
Paul said something in his announcements yesterday that got my attention: “Resolve to be invovled.”
